PATRICK NEWALL BEGAN HIS CAREER IN THE INDIE ARENA UPON HIS MOVE TO L.A. OVER TWO DECADES AGO.
His first film was one which he not only produced, but also wrote and co-starred opposite Oscar®-winner Olympia Dukakis and Tony Award winner Philip Bosco — “Brooklyn Sonnet” (2000).
Over the years, Newall has gone on to produce or executive produce over two dozen motion pictures, collaborating with such notable filmmakers as William Friedkin (“Killer Joe” with Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey), Terry Gilliam (“The Zero Theorem” with Oscar® winners Christophe Waltz, Matt Damon and Tilda Swinton), Larry Charles (“Army of One” with Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage and Russell Brand), Paul W.S. Anderson (“Resident Evil: Afterlife”) and two films with Andrew Niccol — “Good Kill,” starring Ethan Hawke, and “Anon” with Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried. He executive produced Brad Furman’s “City Of Lies”, starring Johnny Depp and Oscar® winner Forest Whitaker.
He produced “How It Ends” for Netflix directed by David Rosenthal and staring Forest Whitaker and “Mosul” written and directed by Matthew Michael Carnahan and producing with Joe and Anthony Russo. Recently, he executive produced “Extraction” starring Chris Hemsworth and directed by Sam Hargrave for Netflix written by Joe Russo and produced alongside the Russo Brothers and their company AGBO Films. He also plays a small role in the film.
He went on to executive produce “Cherry” directed by the Russo Brothers starring Tom Holland and also produced “Kate” for Netflix that stars Mary Elisabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. He acted opposite Mr. Harrelson in a supporting role in the film.
The Brooklyn native (and Brooklyn College alumni) also counts among his big screen credits, “The Keeping Room” (Sam Worthington and Hailee Steinfeld), “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman” (Shia LeBoeuf, Rachel Evan Wood, Mads Mikkelsen), “Bad Country” (Willem Dafoe and Matt Dillon), “The Headhunter’s Calling” (Gerard Butler, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina), “Once Upon A Time in Venice” (Bruce Willis and John Goodman) and a pair of projects with Jean-Claude Van Damme — “6 Bullets” and “Assassination Games.”
